National Apprenticeship Week is an opportunity to celebrate our apprentices and highlight the benefits that apprentices can bring to businesses, local communities, and the wider economy.
This National Apprenticeship Week, meet James Rodgers, one of our apprentices. James has been with Optimising IT since November 2021; James has always had an interest and passion for IT and he saw an apprenticeship as the best way to get stuck in.
James is training to be a Level 3 Infrastructure Technician having found himself as the ‘go to’ person with any IT queries in previous roles.
James said, “I’ve always had a passion for IT but never found the right opportunity to get involved, until one day I found professional apprenticeships who helped me find this role.”
James was a finalist in the SoGlos Business Awards 2022 which was no surprise to us considering James’ approach to his colleagues and our customers. His willingness to help, coupled with his drive to learn and progress is a huge benefit not only to him but to the wider team, our clients and the business. His enthusiasm and approach has a positive impact on the whole team.
When James is not at work, he can be found in the gym most days or meeting up with friends to go climbing or watching the latest match at Cheltenham Town Football Club. James can often be spotted out cycling, a hobby that James has enjoyed for many years.
Todd Gifford, Managing Director at Optimising IT said, “James is a total legend, he’s a huge asset to our team. From joining us over a year ago as an apprentice to now being an IT Support Engineer, James’ work ethic, attitude, capability and drive to learn have seen him excel in everything he turns his hand to.
James is also a fantastic advocate for reducing climate impact and cycles to work every day, rain or shine.”
