On Tuesday 30th April, Optimising IT’s Head of Consultancy – Todd Gifford (CISSP), and Devon & Cornwall Cyber Protect Officer – Laura Cowie, will be sharing their experiences and insights into the dark world of cybercrime. You will find out why social engineering works and even be tasked with delving into the hacker mindset. You will hear of real-life cybercrime cases and learn how to identify cyber vulnerabilities in your supply chain.

Laura Cowie
Cyber Protect Officer for the Devon & Cornwall Police
- Reducing the overall impact of cybercrime is a key priority and through awareness raising and advocating preventative measures, Laura educates individuals and businesses to help protect themselves and their IT infrastructure against the growing threat.
- Based in the Digital Capabilities Unit, Laura has been in the Cyber Protect role since January 2017 after moving from her previous post with the South West Counter Terrorism Intelligence Unit.
