Since July 2022, Optimising IT has had the privilege of Gloucestershire Young Carers as their charity partnership, and we have undertaken a wonderful journey together. Gloucestershire Young Carers is a charitable organisation that supports young people who have taken on a carer role for a family member by offering advice, group support, advocacy, short breaks and more. Today they support over 1000 young carers across Gloucestershire with the belief all these children should be empowered to build on their strengths and achieve their aspirations whilst still enjoying a full childhood.
Since our charity partnership began with Gloucestershire Young Carers, we have supported and participated in numerous events to raise funds for Gloucestershire Young Carers, including skydives, charity quizzes and wing walks. We have also given young carers opportunities for new personal experiences, such as donating Cheltenham Town Football Club hospitality day tickets where children got to experience a fun sports event with the VIP treatment and also participate in an on-pitch crossbar challenge.
We have also made a number of donations for hats and scarves, residential trips, birthday and anniversary gifts, quiz and raffle prizes and the Optimising IT team have made donations throughout the year instead of receiving birthday or anniversary gifts, totalling nearly £11,000.
