We are thrilled to announce a new partnership between Optimising IT and Moor Trees, a charity dedicated to environmental conservation and reforestation efforts in the South West. As a B Corporation certified IT support and cybersecurity company striving to lead the way in the South West, Optimising IT is committed to sustainability and making a positive impact on the environment, making this collaboration with Moor Trees a must for the company.
Moor Trees is an independent charity dedicated to restoring native woodland on Dartmoor and in South Devon with the aim to improve the environment and connect people with conservation. Founded in 2000, their achievements include planting over 100,000 trees across 90 ha of woodland, the creation of 84 woodlands and management of two tree nursery sites, collection of over 150,000 acorns, plus 80,000 seeds of other species, including Hazel, Alder, Birch, Rowan, Hawthorn, Crab Apple, and Guelder Rose. They have supported over 1800 tree dedications from individuals and over 150 volunteering days every year with an average 11 volunteers per day.
Their mission aligns perfectly with Optimising IT’s values of corporate social responsibility and environmental stewardship. By partnering with Moor Trees, Optimising IT aims to support the charity’s vital work in conserving and enhancing natural habitats, mitigating climate change, and promoting biodiversity.
Through this partnership, Optimising IT will provide financial support to Moor Trees to support tree planting and woodland management projects, including growing local provenance trees in their community tree nurseries from locally collected seed. They will also be supporting their research, education and training programmes with partner schools, colleges and universities. Additionally, employees of Optimising IT will have the opportunity to participate in volunteer activities organised by Moor Trees, such as tree planting events and habitat restoration projects. This hands-on involvement will allow Optimising IT staff to directly contribute to the charity’s conservation efforts and deepen their commitment to environmental sustainability.
Moor Trees expressed their gratitude for the partnership with Optimising IT, emphasising the significance of corporate support in advancing their conservation goals.
“We are excited to welcome Optimising IT as a valued new corporate partner. Their generous support will directly contribute to growing more local trees. This, in turn, allows us to expand our woodland restoration and regeneration efforts across Dartmoor, a crucial step in addressing the climate and nature crises.” said Zoe Partridge, Fundraising Manager of Moor Trees.
As part of their partnership, Optimising IT and Moor Trees will collaborate on various initiatives to raise awareness about environmental issues and promote sustainable practices within the community. Together, they aim to inspire others to join the movement towards a more sustainable and eco-friendly future.
Moor Trees and Optimising IT extend an open invitation to individuals and businesses to join them in their efforts to conserve and protect the environment for future generations. Together, we can make a tangible difference in preserving our planet’s natural habitats and biodiversity.
Moor Trees’ registered charity number is 1081142.
